When we first created the position of Technical Project Manager and described the perfect combination of talent, experience and passion we were looking for, little did we know that we were describing Jennie Dykens to a tee.
Although Jennie has over 20 years of experience in digital strategy and project management and has no equal in bringing together the stakeholders and moving parts to meet a project’s objectives, she does so much more than just keeping things on track. She has a unique ability to get right in the trenches and wrestle with the day-to-day challenges a project might present while at the same time seeing the big picture to help our clients devise and implement strategies to meet their overarching goals. No mean feat.
A certified Project Management Professional (PMP), Jennie has a BA in Public Relations from the University of Massachusetts and also studied Media Studies at San Francisco State. She started her digital career in the bay area during the dotcom boom, later moving back east to be near family. Jennie is equally comfortable working alongside entrepreneurs and C-suite executives, marketing directors and network engineers, artists and social strategists, and she has a gift for teaching, supporting, leading and empowering clients at every level. She’s never met a website she couldn’t develop or improve and came to us with a deep background in the fields of healthcare, higher education, insurance and tech.
At the heart of what Jennie brings to the Owl’s Head table is her skill at helping clients home in on exactly what they want to achieve and the best mechanisms for success. She asks the tough questions, sharpens the focus, manages expectations and helps find creative solutions, at times even opening up unseen opportunities. This is the part of her work that motivates and excites her the most. It should be obvious why we’re so delighted that Jennie found her way to our door.
FUN FACT: Jennie loves making soup, and often does so on the weekends. Chicken and Roasted Vegetable with Fontina Toasted Croutons is her personal favorite!
